Nihon-go  ni wa  Eigo  kara  tsukurareta  dooshi  ga  takusan  ari-masu.

Ikutsuka  no  Eigo  no  kotoba wa  bunmatsu  ni  ” suru”  o  tsukeru  koto  de,

dooshi  ni  nari-masu. ” suru”  o  tsukeru  koto  wa, meishi  o  dooshi  ni  suru

mottomo  ippanteki  na  hoohoo  desu.

There are many verbs making with English in Japanese.Some English words become verbalized by adding “suru” at the end.  Adding “suru” is the most common way to verbalize a katakana noun.

Katakana (noun)  +  suru   →  dooshi (verb)

 

 1  jogingu suru   to jog  jogging + suru
 2  chekku suru   to check, to confirm, to make sure  check + suru
 3  katto suru   to cut (meat, hair)  cut + suru
 4  gooru suru   to goal  goal + suru
 5  oopun suru   to open (a shop)  open + suru
 6  rentaru suru   to rent  rental + suru
 7  teiku auto suru   to take out, to take away  take out + suru
 8  sutoppu suru   to stop  stop + suru
 9  sutaato suru   to start  start + suru
 10  kopii suru   to copy  copy + suru

※ suru →   casual form of ” shimasu”         「jogingu-suru」

※ shimasu →  polite way to say ” suru” 「jogingu-shimasu」

raishuu  eki  no  mae  ni  itarian  resutoran  ga  oopun  shimasu.

らいしゅう えきの まえに イタリアンレストランが オープンします

= An Italian restaurant will open in front of the station next week.

Maishuu  nichi-yoobi  wa  jogingu  (o) shimasu.

まいしゅう にちようびは ジョギング(を) します

= I jog every Sunday. (I do some jogging every Sunday)

donogurai  katto  shimasu  ka?

どのぐらい カットしますか

= How long do you want me to cut?  (or How short would you like it?)  <at a barber>

3㎝ gurai  katto  shite-kudasai.

3㎝ぐらい カットしてください

= Could you please cut my hair 3 cm (in length).

repooto  o  chekku  shite  morae-masu  ka?

レポートを チェックしてもらえますか?

= Could you please check my report?

maiasa  meeru  o  chekku  shimasu.

まいあさ メールを チェックします

= I check my Email every morning.
